I once visited multiple skin clinics to treat acne on my forehead.

Almost everywhere, I was advised to undergo four to five sessions of chemical peels — each session costing several thousand rupees.

When I later spoke to a few family dermatologists, the guidance was different. I was advised to start with topical treatment and reassess after a few months. Since I didn’t need immediate results, this approach made complete sense. If faster results were the priority, chemical peels would have been a valid option.

What stood out to me wasn’t that one recommendation was right and the other was wrong — it was that I was rarely given all the options.

“As a patient, I should have been able to understand the trade-offs: speed versus cost, intervention versus patience, short-term outcomes versus long-term care — and then decide what was right for me.”

That experience became another motivation
behind Olmo.
